£900 raised for Cancer Research UK and The Grace Kelly Ladybird Trust
The team of 16 bought together colleagues from across our business, including the CEO, Carl Arntzen, and Logistics Director, Shaun Mansbridge, alongside members from sales, marketing, production and recycling. All were committed to raising as much money as possible for Worcester’s chosen charities, Cancer Research UK and the Grace Kelly Ladybird Trust.
To complete the course, those involved swam across a lake, crawled through muddy tunnels, climbed ropes and even faced an outdoor water slide. Members of the team also took turns to carry a toy replica of the company’s mascot, Bobby the Boiler, around the demanding route - he also made it to the finish line in one piece but little muddier for the trip!
The team has been rewarded for their efforts with over £900 raised to date, and money is still coming in. The total raised will then be match-funded by Worcester once all donations have been received.
Sue Pennington, consumer brand manager, and one member of our team said:
“The Wolf Run was certainly a challenge but one we enjoyed at the same time. There was a great sense of camaraderie as we made our way around the course and we knew we were raising money for such fantastic causes. This year’s chosen charities were voted for by members of staff from across the business, so both are causes close to our hearts.
“We all had a real sense of achievement when we reached the end and we’ll definitely be planning our next challenge as soon as possible!”
