Worcester sponsor charity walk
Published: 16-02-2012
Encouraging people across the county to join in and help raise money for local charity Acorns Children's Hospice, we have joined forces with Free Radio to launch the 'Walk of Worcestershire' event taking place on Sunday, 1st July 2012.
We are sponsoring the event which aims to encourage willing walkers from across Worcestershire to join in with an easy and fun way that they can raise money for this worthy cause.
The ten mile charity walk will start at Three Counties Showground, Malvern and finishes at Worcester Racecourse.
The course of the walk will take on some of Worcestershire's most picturesque routes and all of the money raised will benefit Acorns Children's Hospice in Worcester.
Get involved
If you would like to get involved in the event, you can 'enter to walk' at freeradio.co.uk where you'll also find more information about the route you will take and how the money that you will raise will be used within the charity.
Proud to support a worthwhile cause
Carl Arntzen, our Managing Director commented:
"We are delighted to be part of Free Radio's Walk of Worcestershire and to be able to support such a worthwhile cause.
"As sponsors of the event we will work to rally up support in the county as well as encouraging our employees and their families to get involved.
We're looking forward to the event and also raising as much money as possible for Acorns."
David Strudley, Chief Executive for Acorns Children's Hospice said:
"Everyone at Acorns is hugely excited about being part of this new event. We simply wouldn't exist and be able to help local children and families without events like this happening.
"We're really looking forward to working with Free Radio and Worcester, Bosch Group in the build up to 1st July when we hope local people will show their support for a charity that is very much part of the community."
